Getting Here

Airports

There are two airports in Toronto. The Pearson International Airport and the Toronto Island Airport. The latter has flights from/to select Canada and US cities only. It is a small airport at the edge of the downtown core. If you arrive through the Island Airport, you may want to just pick up a taxi to the hotel.

The Up Express Train offers service between the Pearson Airport and the Union Subway station. We were offered a group rate for UP Express of $9 CDN each way*. More info on how to get the rate can be found here. It's a 20-25 minute ride and the train usually runs every 15 minutes. The UP Train station is at Terminal 1 which you can reach through another short train ride (free of charge) from Terminal 3. It takes you to downtown Toronto at the Union station. You can also take a public transportation bus to the green subway line, change at Spadina or St. George to the Yellow line and get of Osgoode a block a way from the hotel (but it will be much longer and will only cost you $5-$7 less or so).

You can reach the hotel either by taxi (ask for the fixed rate which should be around $65 or less plus tip) or by taking the UP Express train to the Union subway station and then the subway to any of the two subway stations mentioned above or a taxi – there are usually plenty in front of Union Station. This involves some walking and possibly stairs.

Train

Toronto is connected via train to many Canadian and US cities through the Union Station. Train service to/from the US tends to be slow. The main train station is Union Station which is above the Union Subway station. Union station is serviced by Via Rail among others.

Renting/Driving a Car

Renting a car to use in downtown Toronto is not a good idea due to the traffic and the difficulty in finding parking where you might need it. Besides, you really do not need one to reach most things anyhow.
